When pursuing a career in Finance (investment broker, financial advisor, etc), how important is accounting?

I'm curious b/c my managerial accounting class is required for a finance degree, but it doesn't seem like it has much to do with investing and to be quit honest, bores the life out of me.

  1. The way I see it is, finance people look at financial statements and try to analyze them to see if its good to invest in a company, how their cash flows are etc. so wouldnt it be beneficial to understand the financial statements and how theyre made (accounting) you get a greater understanding of them if you take accounting. also it shows that youre serious about finance and youll be more well rounded. Trust me, as hard as it is, you wont regret it. lol maybe not, Im an accounting major and its a nightmare haha
